Courtland oversees DWM’s product development and related partner engagement. His previous experience at DWM spans investment monitoring, transaction management, macroeconomic, currency, and credit analysis, fund structuring and financial modeling. His product launch experience includes the DWM Microfinance Fund, DWM Microfinance Equity Fund, Daiwa Microfinance Fund, Inclusive Finance Equity Fund II, Actiam Institutional Microfinance Fund III, and the ORCA (Off-Grid, Renewable and Climate Action) Impact Note.

Before joining DWM in 2008, Courtland was a research analyst in the Development through Enterprise Group at the World Resources Institute in Washington, D.C. He is a co-author of “The Next 4 Billion: Market Size and Business Strategy at the Base of the Pyramid,” a joint report with the International Finance Corporation, analyzing spending in low-income market segments in developing countries and strategies for business engagement across development-related sectors.

Courtland has a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard University and an MBA, with honors, from Columbia University. He is a native English speaker and speaks fluent French.
