Ashwin is responsible for portfolio management of DWM-advised funds. Previously, he served as regional manager for DWM’s credit investments in Asia and as a portfolio manager on the firm’s private equity team. Before joining DWM in 2012, Ashwin served as the head of finance and treasury for Grameen Financial Services, a microfinance institution in India. Before that, he worked in the Indian capital markets at JM Financial (formerly JM Morgan Stanley) and as an investment executive advising institutions and high-net-worth individuals at Scotia Capital and Berkshire Securities in Montreal.

Ashwin serves on the investment committee of Washington DC-based impact loan fund Partners for the Common Good and on the board of McGill university’s US endowment entity. He has also served as the chair of the Quebec chapter of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce.

Ashwin received a BA in economics from McGill University. He is fluent in English and Kannada and functional in Hindi.

Ashwin is a CFA charterholder and holds the Canadian investment manager (CIM) designation.
