“We embrace the challenges of lending in emerging and frontier markets, and our ability to structure creative financing solutions that balance risk and return is a meaningful differentiator. It delivers value for our investors, for borrowers, and for beneficiaries of the impact.”
–Robert Constantino, Partner, Private Credit
Expansive knowledge of the emerging financial services sector
We deeply understand the ways inclusive financial services can promote social and economic progress in developing countries. We lend to bank and non-bank institutions providing microfinance, small and midsize enterprise (SME) finance, low-income mortgage, agricultural, and education finance, leasing, factoring, and other financial services—and our ongoing monitoring and discussions with these providers helps them (and therefore our investors) succeed.
Direct lending beyond microfinance
While DWM lends largely to microfinance institutions and other specialty finance companies, we also lend directly in senior secured, unsecured and subordinated credit formats to companies in meaningfully impactful sectors such as renewable energy, water & sanitation, women’s opportunity, agriculture, education, and health.
Multiple and tailored credit strategies
DWM offers tailored financing solutions including senior and subordinated debt, short- and medium-tenors, hard and local currency denominations, bond issues and syndications. We create strategies that work well for our direct institutional investors, asset-management partners, and borrowers.
